The section deals with congenital disorders of the cranio- maxillofacial skeleton. Its diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment as well as its long-term prognosis. Tissue repair via autogenous bone or alloplastic bone substitutes as well as distraction osteogenensis are fields of investigation. Methods towards a more accurate surgical planning as well as a critical post-surgical review are frequent topics.
